How I took my skin from oily and spotty to normal and spots free!!!!!

I've been struggling with oily skin and acnee since I was fourteen and it took me 6 years to find out the right products and to achieve a normal spots free skin. Now, I'm not saying that my skin is perfect, I still have occasional breakouts around that time of the month and a few black heads, but apart from that my it has been doing really well and I finally found the perfect skincare routine for me.
I really hope this will help you even though I can't guarantee that the products which work for me will work for you as well, because skin is such an individual thing.

I used to wake up every morning with a vail of grease on my face(gross, I know) and no matter how mattifying my foundation was, in half an hour I would look oily and disgusting.I was so self concious and I used to have spots around my chin and on my forehead all the time no matter what I did and it was really frustrating.
I tried a lot of products during those years and most of them failed me or helped my just temorarily. It took me a long time but these are the products that sorted out my skin:

Breakouts wise, wat literally saved my life was the LA ROCHE-POSAY- Effaclar Duo. I can't put into words how miraculous this product was to me, I can't live without it now. It's a drugstore product ,it's inexpensive and it has worked wonders on all of my friends. It has a sort of gel texture, really light, wonderfull under makeup. I use it all over my face in the morning and before I go to sleep and I use it instead of a moisturizer, because I find that if  I use a classical moisturizer my skin gets oily again. For me it's perfect but if you have slightly dryer skin you would need extra moisture.

In terms of cleansing and removing my makeup, I use the BIODERMA Sensibio Micellar Water to remove my makeup and then I use the BIODERMA Sebium Foaming Gel which is a gentle cleanser for oily skin. I also use it every night and every morning and it keeps my skin soft, clean and oil free.

After cleansing I usually use a toner and this is the part of my skincare that is not stable yet. For now I am using the GARNIER Fresh Detoxifying Grape Toner. It works for me but I'm not crazy about it.

Then I use a product that I didn't use to believe in but now it's a must: LA ROCHE-POSAY Spring Thermal Water. It doesn't have to be La Roche Posay I also used Avene and Bioderma , they were all good. What this does for me is making my skin calm down after cleansing and exfoliating ,it preps it for the serum step,it's anti irritant and I find that it helps me to prevent breakouts. I just spray it after my toner and it feels so nice and soothing.

After all that and before my Effaclar Duo I use a serum and it's the ESTEE LAUDER Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher. It is expensive but it's so worth it. It leaves the skin silky soft, large pores almost disappear ,foundation goes divine on top of it and it just makes your skin look so flawless. If you struggle with dilated, large pores this is a wise investment.

Three times a week I exfoliate otherwise I get quite clogged pores and I can get breakouts. As an exfoliator I use the BIODERMA Sebium Exfoliating Gel. It is quite gentle and it does it's job really well with oily skin.

I really hope this was helpful! My morning skincare routine is the same as my night time routine since I don't believe in heavy over the night products. I think that if you keep your skin clean, hydrated and treat it's specific problems you don't need anything else.
Like I said my skin is now completely normal, I can go outside without wearing any makeup,I'm so much more confident and I wish I knew about these products earlier.
Please let me know in the comments below about any products that you use or any tricks you have!

One sweater - 4 outfits!!!

So I've been clothing shopping for the past month because I felt like my wardrobe was a bit childish and I've been getting into a more classic, mature style with a bit of edge. One of my favourite things that I've picked out was this burgundy Zara sweater that I decided to style for you in this blogpost.
Before I get into it a few notes: first of all I'm sorry for the not so good quality pictures but I had camera issues so I had to stick to my old trusty phone; second of all I will try to put links to every clothing item but some of the stuff I bought last year or years ago so I don't think I will be able to find them online anymore.
So, without further ado this is one sweater - 4 outfits:

  Number 1: Comfy-Casual

I paired the sweater with a pair of dark Zara jeans, super comfy black UGGs and casual Zara blak bag with burgundy interior lining. Accessories wise I kept it really simple with just my Fossil rose gold watch and my perfume of choice was Gucci Guilty, my current favourite perfume. This outfit is perfect for school/college/university when you are to lazy to get yourself done up and you want to be comfortable but still looking chic and pretty.

Number 2: Effortless-Edgy

This is pretty much the same idea but instead of jens I went for this black faux leather Zara leggings (they are actually faux leather in the front and normal leggings in the back) , Zara black leather biker boots and my Michael Kors black bag. I kept the same accesories because I felt they work very well and so I created an edgy but still feminine and fashionable look that you can wear almost everywhere.

Number 3: Done up-Rock chick

A bit more effort went into this outfit but nothing crazy. For the bottoms I went for faux leather leggings ,kept the same boots and threw a Zara black shirt with studs on the collar underneath the sweater which peaks through nicely. My bag is a simple shoulder bag from Pimkie that I got last year and to give the outfit a feminine touch I chose my Pandora bracelet and Chanel Allure perfume.

Number 4: Simply-Ellegant

Last but not least my favourite look! I picked this dress up from Mango last week and it's a gorgeous black and white printed dress with a skinny black belt at the waist. I feel like it goes really nicely with the burgundy sweater as well as with the slightly ellegant chain purse that I also have from Mango and my knee high Zara boots. I love how chic and girly this outfit looks and to finish it off  I added my Pandora bracelet again and Terry Muler Alien perfume.

Hope you will enjoy this and that it will give you some inspiration for this fall. A chunky knit sweater it's so versatile you cand create any type of look with it. Also if the weather gets really cold a leather jacket will work with any of this outfits.

Please tell me in the comment section below what fashion peaces are you loving this season and also wich one of these outfits would you wear and which one is your favourite!

September Favourites

September was a really busy month for me since I have been preparing for university. Even though moving out has been quite exhausting , I still managed to try some new beauty products and fell in love with some of them.
So these are my september favourites...

Fashion wise , I've been really loving this white cuncky sweater (my obsession for fall) that I got from Stradivarius a few weeks ago. I've been wearing it like crazy with black leggings and black studded boots, creating an edgy but still girly look.

In terms of beauty, the Estée Lauder Illuminating Perfecting Primer stole my heart! It really makes your skin glow, but in a natural, subtle way and it also makes your foundation last longer. It helps you achieve a dewy ,glowy skin but without looking or getting greasy throughout the day.

All the moving stress has caused my a lot of sleeping trouble ,so as you might expect my skin has been looking really dull and tired. When I have moments like this the foundation I go for is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. I've been using it almost every day this month and fell back in love with it.I thought for a long time that this foundation wouldn't work for me since I have really oily skin ,but with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder it works perfectly.

I have been breaking out a bit this month (thank you stress), so for those days when I didn't really have anything fancy to do, I would keep my makeup minimal by using the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream for oily skin. Now, this one has 2% Salicylic Acid in it which has helped me with my breakout. Also it has quite good coverage and it lasts surprisingly long.

The bronzer that I used every single day this month was the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess in 01 Light and words can't describe how much I love it! I apply it where the sun usually hits your face and it makes my skin look so healthy and glowy in the most natural way. I don't use it to contour and I wouldn't reccommend that because it has a bit of orange in it and it wouldn't look natural. Also the packaging is absolutely gorgeous.

My favourite blush this month has to be the Mac Mineralize Blush in Love Thing. The reason I like it is because it goes perfectly with my favourite lipstick this month : Maybelline COLORsensational in Atomic Pink.

Skincare wise, I have a favourite cleanser this month : the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for oily sensitive skin. I have been using this in the morning and aswell in the evening after taking of my makeup with the Bioderma Sensibio H2O. It takes off every bit of makeup that's left and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean. I just love the Effaclar range so much!

I have two random favourites this month. The first one is my Clinique Antiperspirant Deodorant which is the best deodorant I have ever tried in my whole life and the only one I will ever purchase, and that is kind of a big statement to make.

And last but not least is my Paris notebook. It's the cutest notebook I own so I thought it deserves a place in this blog post. *smiles*

Here are the swatches from this post:

Left - Maybelline COLORsensational lipstick in Atomic Pink 190
Middle - Mac Mineralize Blush in Love Thing
Right – Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess 01 Light

This is everything I've been enjoying this month. Please leave my in the comments below what you've been loving during September or leave me the link to your "September Favourites" if you did one, I would love to read/watch that.

The Autumn Tag

I wanted to do a tag for quite a while now but I couln't decide which one to do. I stumbled across this one on a few blogs and I thought it would be the perfect one to start with.

I have three words for this: boots, sweaters, dark lips.

2. Favourite drink?
Pumpkin spice latte all the way!

4. Favourite lipstick?
Maybelline COLORsensational in Atomic Pink , which is a dark plummy colour, perfect for fall.

Nivea Smooth Milk body lotion is my favourite body moisturiser, it is very hydrating, it absorbs quickly and it has a really nice subtle scent that doesn't compete with your perfume. 6. Go to colour for eyes?
Mac paint pot in Groundwork and Mac Sable eyeshadow.

L'Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess Mascara - Review + Before and After

I purchased this mascara when I was in Greece from the Free Shop because the Volume Million Lashes used to be my all time favourite mascara. I have quite thick lashes but they are really short , so a volumizing mascara is not normally my first choice, but since I loved my last one so much I thought I'd give this one a go.

What it claims to do: "Our newest addition to the Voluminous family, L’Oréal Paris introduces Voluminous Million Lashes Excess, which combines bold volume with clean definition for an excessively dramatic lash look. Our legendary Millionizer brush is bigger than ever to separate and build each lash evenly from root to tip. The mascara features a built-in, anti-clump wiper that removes surplus mascara for a clean and impactful effect. Plus, the ultra black formula amplifies each individual lash for a dramatic lash effect."

Now the name is clearly more attractive (Voluminous Million Lashes Excess) but I have to say I preffer the Volume Million Lashes since it has a thicker ,fatter brush ,which is the kind of brush I preffer. The brush this one has is considerablly thiner and longer, also it is a plastic brush just like the original one. The plastic brushes are the ones I like more (exception The Falsies by Maybelline) since I find they separate more.

When I first tried it I didn't like it at all and I find this happens a lot to me when I first try a mascara. I start liking a mascara after a few more uses. Maybe I'm crazy but when the mascara starts drying I find it builds up better and it sticks more to the lash.

What I love about this mascara is that is really black, it is indeed volumizing and it also gives a bit of lenght.

I find that if you apply only one coat it does nothing. So ,for me at least, it needs a few coats, which is a bit time consuming. Also you have to be quite careful not to over do your lashes, because after two coats it can easily clump.

To conclude I like this mascara, I will use it, but I'm not crazy about it and I don't think I will repurchase it.

That being said this is the before and after:

Loving Greece

I have recently been to the beautiful island of Corfu and I must say I had a wonderful time over there exploring and enjoying the delightful weather. Although I spent most of the time sunbathing and swiming , I also managed to visit some of the prettiest places on the island and even did parasailing which is quite impresive for someone like me (who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks).
That being said I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Autumn Haul

Since I am starting university in October I decided to make some new additions to my fall wardrobe. That being said this is what I have purchased for the last month clothing wise.

My first stop was H&M and they had a really nice fall collection,I was particularly drawn in by the colours. Please excuse the slightly wrinkled items and the lack of tags but I actually wore some of the clothes already *oops*.

Next I went to Zara and I did a bit of a splurge over there but everything was so pretty and I really needed a pair of boots for fall and winter. Also I had my eye on the Zara City Bag for a long time, since everyone raved about it so much, and I must say : I am absolutely in love with it!

Last but not least I went to Stradivarius where they had really cute stuff but I was tired and not in the mood for trying on clothes anymore.

I apollogize for not being able to find links to everything in this blog post. Also I would really like to know what you would like me to post next. If you want me to do a fall lookbook, some OOTDs,beauty reviews or even a travel blog post on my trip to Greece let me know in the comments.
